Students concerned about being served contaminated food

Hyderabad: The conditions of government Gurukul and Ashram schools in the state are deteriorating day by day. Students and parents are expressing concern that poor quality and contaminated food is being served. Hundreds of female students are falling ill and being hospitalized due to frequent food poisoning incidents.

Recently, even before the Nagarkurnool incident, the students of the Guduru Tribal Girls’ Hostel in Palakurthi Mandal of Janagama district staged a protest. They boycotted classes and took to the streets, alleging that contaminated food was being served. They protested by shouting slogans like “Principal down, principal down”.
