Washington: Smoke from a fire in the swamps of South Louisiana in the US and dense morning fog led to a horrific car accident in which at least seven people died and 25 others were injured. The officers provided this information.
State police said on Monday night that 158 vehicles were involved in the horrific accident and the death toll could be much higher, Xinhua news agency reported. According to local media reports, witnesses initially reported two deaths after one slipped under the wheels of a truck.
The main cause of the fog was smoke generated by local swamp fires. It is likely to persist for several days.
