Surat: Due to 5 flights in three hours in the afternoon at the airport, the passengers got sweaty in the check-in.

Despite having 2 slots in the morning, flights are not operating at the airport and 5 flights in 3 hours in the afternoon have caused a rush of passengers. On the other hand the check-in line is so long that it reaches outside the terminal building and people have to bake in the scorching heat. It is learned that some passengers have complained to the airport manager and asked him to make proper arrangements.

Currently there is an early morning flight from Surat to Delhi, which arrives in Delhi at 8.00 am and returns at 8.30 am. The flight arrives from Hyderabad at 12.55 pm and returns at 1.30 pm. There are 5 flights arriving and departing between 1 PM to 4 PM. During this, an average of 1200 passengers travel daily. Half of them have to arrive early for check-in, baggage check and flights.

Airport sources said that two airlines have been allotted slots between 9 am and 12 noon, but are not operating due to an aircraft fault. This problem is also being told on a daily basis.

Situation may improve in next two months

Slots have been allotted to 12 flights between 1 pm and 9.30 pm, most of the slots are in the evening and additional slots are likely to be available in the morning. Airlines sources said that more flights are likely to come in the next two months. The airlines which have been allotted slots are also likely to start flights in the next two months.
