‘Suresh Gopi thinks that he is still the police officer in the movie Commissioner’
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty has alleged that Minister of State Suresh Gopi behaved in a way that insulted the national anthem at the opening stage of the Olympic Run organized by the Kerala Olympic Association.
The Governor was to deliver a speech after the singing of the national anthem followed by the flag-off of the Olympic run. But when the function started, Suresh Gopi left the stage and went to the students to flag off like he was boycotting the function. This was when the Governor, Minister of Public Education, Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Chief Secretary etc. were present on the stage. Sivankutty said that Suresh Gopi has taken a stance of insulting the Governor and the National Anthem and this is a violation of protocol.Suresh Gopi’s name was not mentioned in the notice issued before the event. The minister clarified that Suresh Gopi is under the impression that he is still a police officer in the film ‘Commissioner’ and has not aware that he is a representative of the people.
