Sushmita Sen recalls father’s reaction after entering Miss India pageant

Sushmita Sen, one of the most favorite actresses of the Bollywood industry, turned 48 today. In a new interview, the actress talked about her relationship with her father Shuvir Sen as she said that the relationship had its ups and downs. She recalled how her father reacted to the news of her participation in the Miss India pageant.

During a recent interview with Mid-Day, Sushmita Sen said that she never imagined becoming an actress and was limited only to the Miss India pageant. His father, an Indian Army officer, wanted him to become an IAS officer. He said that no one in his family is from the film industry. As his father wanted him to become an IAS officer, he started preparing accordingly.

The actress further said, “When the bomb was dropped on my father that she wanted to go to Miss India, my father did not talk to me about anything. I remember that very emotional moment with my father when I promised him, ‘Baba’ I have to wear a swimsuit. I can’t wear it. It’s part of the show.” Telling this to his father, Sen said that he had promised his father to “add respect to it” and “not to be fooled”.
