Suspension of three Congress MLAs in Jharkhand ended, they were arrested with cash

Ranchi (IANS). Congress has released three party MLAs in Jharkhand — Irfan Ansari, Naman Vixal Kongadi and Rajesh Kachhap — after nearly a year of suspension. Party state president Rajesh Thakur and Congress Legislature Party leader in Jharkhand Assembly Alamgir Alam made this announcement on Friday.

The three MLAs were suspended from the party after they were caught with the cash in Kolkata. The party has withdrawn the suspension of all the three MLAs.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam will look into the case against the three MLAs in the Speaker’s court as well. During this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam was also present.

Alamgir Alam said that the suspension of all the three MLAs has been withdrawn. The application given in the Vidhansabha will be processed as per the process.

On July 30 last year, these three MLAs were caught with currency bags at Rani Haat of Panchla police station under Howrah district of West Bengal. When the notes were counted, the total amount was found to be Rs 48 lakh.

After this, on July 31, all three were suspended by the party. Anup Singh, MLA from Bermo region of Congress, had lodged an FIR against these three MLAs at Argora police station in Ranchi on charges of conspiracy to topple the state government.

A complaint was also made against these three in the Speaker’s Tribunal. The party had also constituted a committee to investigate the matter.

Later, the three MLAs got bail from the Calcutta High Court.

The MLAs say that they were implicated under the conspiracy. Congress Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam said that the complaint made against the three MLAs in the Assembly can be withdrawn as per the procedure.
