SUV caught fire on Sohna elevated highway, driver narrowly escaped
Gurugram (IANS). A sudden fire broke out in a Land Rover SUV on the Sohna elevated highway near Vatika Chowk on Tuesday and it started burning in flames. However, the driver of the car escaped unhurt in the incident.
The estimated price of the car is around Rs 35 lakh. After receiving information about the fire, the fire department team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. However, by then the car was completely damaged.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning around 11.15 am. The incident took place when the man was going towards Sohna. The car driver told the police that as soon as he reached near Vatika Chowk on the Sohna elevated highway, he saw smoke coming out of the bonnet.
He immediately parked the car on the roadside. Before he could investigate the source of the smoke, the car suddenly caught fire, but he escaped unhurt. The person informed the fire department and two fire engines reached the spot in about 15 minutes to douse the fire.
Fire officials said they suspect that the fire broke out due to a short circuit near the engine, but the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
