DMK coupon distribution: Appeal filed in High Court

Tamil Nadu: An appeal was filed in the Madras High Court alleging that the DMK is distributing coupons worth ₹8,000 to voters across Tamil Nadu.
Appearing before Madras High Court Chief Justice S.A. Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arulmurugan on Thursday, Advocate A.P. Suryaprakasam alleged that the DMK is distributing coupons worth ₹8,000 to voters across Tamil Nadu. With just days left for the Assembly elections, the DMK is gathering votes by distributing coupons. He appealed that the Election Commission should be ordered to take appropriate action to stop this. He also urged that the petition filed in this regard be heard as an urgent matter.
AIADMK Token Distribution: Advocate Shyamkumar, appearing in the same session, stated that Royapuram R. Manohar, contesting the Chennai Port constituency on behalf of the AIADMK, is distributing tokens to solicit money. They appealed for appropriate action to be taken to stop this. The judges hearing these appeals said that if they were filed as petitions, they would be heard.
