Mahasamund. Paddy procurement at the minimum support price (MSP) continues unabated in the state. Procurement has only been underway for five days, but the inflow of paddy at procurement centers across the state is already picking up speed. As of today, 1,294 tokens have been issued at 127 of the 182 procurement centers across 130 committees in Mahasamund district. A total of 75,101 quintals of paddy will be procured to date. Furthermore, all procurement centers are fully prepared to ensure uninterrupted paddy procurement from farmers.
The Collector of Mahasamund district has issued instructions to ensure paddy procurement at all centers. Farmers in Mahasamund district are now enthusiastically arriving at paddy procurement centers with paddy. Farmer Ishwar Nishad of Sher village, at the Primary Cooperative Society Sher, today collected an online token to sell 52.80 quintals of paddy produced from two and a half acres of land. He sold his paddy at this center with ease.
He said that the farmers were welcomed as soon as they arrived at the center and the paddy procurement process was started. Today, tokens of 11 farmers were cut at the Sher Cooperative Society, in which 570 quintals of paddy will be procured. Other farmers who arrived here said that this time the token system is completely transparent and online. Weighing is being done correctly, there is no shortage of gunny bags and they are completely satisfied with the government’s arrangements. The district administration has appealed to the farmers that despite the strike, paddy procurement is being carried out smoothly through alternative arrangements. Farmers should reach the procurement center without any confusion and sell their paddy.
