Tamil Nadu: Lemon kept during puja auctioned for Rs 16,000

Tamil Nadu: A lemon offered during the Shivaratri puja at the Palanthinni Karuppanna Easwarar Temple in Pudu Annamalaipalayam near Sivagiri in Erode district was auctioned for ₹16,000, a silver coin for ₹21,000, and a silver ring for ₹52,500.
A food distribution program was organized to celebrate the Shivaratri festival at the Palanthinni Karuppanna Easwarar Temple in Pudu Annamalaipalayam near Sivagiri.
Thousands of devotees participated and enjoyed the food provided by the temple.
The lemon, silver coin, and silver ring offered during the Shivaratri puja at this temple are usually put up for public auction.
Devotees usually bid competitively for these items. In last year’s auction, a lemon was sold for Rs 13,000, in this year’s auction, a lemon was sold for Rs 33,000 and a silver coin was sold for Rs 45,000, whereas in this year’s auction, a lemon was sold for Rs 16,000, a silver coin was sold for Rs 21,000 and a silver ring was sold for Rs 52,500.
