Raipur. Bookie Suraj Dubey has been arrested. The team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit had received information that a person is operating online betting near Station Road Naharpara under Thana Ganj area. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Ganj Police went to the said place and identified and arrested a person matching the description given by the informer. During interrogation, the person told his name to be Suraj Dubey, resident of Ganj Raipur. On checking the mobile phone kept with him by the team members, the accused was found to be operating online betting on the Champions Trophy match of India vs Australia through the ID and calls in the mobile phone.
On which accused Suraj Dubey was arrested and 02 mobile phones, cash amount of Rs 54,000/- worth Rs 70,000/- were seized from his possession and a case number 63/2025 under section 4(a) of Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 and section 7 of Gambling Act has been registered against the accused in Police Station Ganj. In-charge Inspector Paresh Kumar Pandey, SI Mukesh Sori, PR Anup Mishra, R. Himanshu Rathore and Vijay Banjare from Anti Crime and Cyber Unit played an important role in the action.
