Voting begins in 9 assembly seats of Trichy district, 21.47 lakh voters cast their votes.

Tamil Nadu: Voting began at 7 am today for the nine assembly constituencies in Trichy district as part of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Voting will continue until 6 pm. A total of 21.47 lakh voters are exercising their franchise in the district. The district administration and the Election Commission have made extensive arrangements to ensure peaceful and safe voting at all polling stations.
Over 3,500 electronic voting machines and VVPATs have been safely transported to all polling stations in the district after prior inspection. Security has been tightened at all these centers to ensure the smooth conduct of the voting process.
Over 4,500 police personnel have been deployed throughout the district for security purposes. In addition, special surveillance by paramilitary forces has been deployed at 111 sensitive polling stations. The District Collector’s Office’s monitoring team is continuously monitoring the situation through surveillance cameras installed at 2,775 polling stations.
According to statistics, the number of female voters in Trichy district is 64,941 more than male voters. So far, 2,039,698 voters have been issued booth slips, while those who do not have them are being provided assistance at the polling station.
Ramps and wheelchairs have been provided for disabled voters at all polling stations. Tents, drinking water, and other basic amenities have also been provided to provide relief from the sun and heat, ensuring voters do not face any difficulties.
The administration says that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure a peaceful and fair election throughout the district.
