The people of three mandals are facing severe difficulties as the HP Gas Agency established in Julurupadu mandal center of Bhadradri Kothagudem district has been closed for the past five months. Around 7,000 consumers from Sujathanagar, Enkuru and Julurupadu mandals have not received gas on time, and consumers in many villages have been forced to wait on the roads as gas is not supplied to those who have booked it at the right time.

Due to this, the authorities temporarily closed this agency due to technical reasons and transferred the connections here to other agencies in Kothagudem. Taking advantage of the gas shortage, several grocery stores and hotels in Julurupadu mandal center are illegally storing gas cylinders and selling them at high prices. On receiving information about this, Civil Supply officials recently conducted raids and seized 34 cylinders. Despite registering cases against illegal sellers, it is worrying that black market activities are still going on here and there at the field level.
