A female sub-inspector in Delhi was arrested for accepting a bribe of 15,000 rupees.

Delhi: A woman sub-inspector of Delhi Police has been arrested by the Vigilance Department in a bribery case, officials said on Friday.
The arrested sub-inspector, identified as Namita, was posted at Sangam Vihar police station.
In this case, the woman police officer allegedly demanded ₹2 lakh from a woman who had filed a complaint at the police station, promising to settle the case successfully. Furthermore, Sub-Inspector Namita allegedly threatened the woman, saying that if she paid the money, no action would be taken in the case.
Following this, the woman filed a complaint against Namita with the Delhi Police Vigilance Cell on Thursday.
Acting on the complaint, officials planned to apprehend Namita at the police station. Namita had demanded the first installment of ₹15,000 in cash, which the complainant handed over to her on Thursday evening with money provided by the surveillance team. As soon as the police officer accepted the money, the surveillance officers raided her office and arrested her. The bribe money was recovered from her.
Officials said a case has been registered in this regard.
