There’s still one duty left: Sanju Samson

Sports Sports: Indian batsman Sanju Samson, who is in form after a brilliant innings in the final round of the T20 World Cup, said that it is his responsibility to play a similar innings for India in the final match.
Struggling to find form, Samson lost his place in the Indian team. Even after being included in the World Cup squad, he played in only two of India’s first six matches, scoring 22 and 24 runs. Samson, who played a key role in the team’s victory by scoring 97 runs in the quarter-final against the West Indies, later proved himself once again by scoring 89 runs in the semi-final against England.
He spoke to reporters about his performance:
I am happy and satisfied with what I have been trying to do for my country for the past few years. I have been waiting for this moment with a lot of patience, hard work, and training.
While I am grateful for this, I feel it is my duty to play a similar innings for India in the final match. If I do this, my years of hard work will be rewarded.
I’ve been playing the T20 format for a long time. I must have played around 300-400 matches. I’ve batted in various positions, from opener to sixth-ranked batsman. Furthermore, since I’ve also been a captain in the IPL, I’ve gained experience understanding what the team needs at a given time and my role in that. This helps me improve my game.
At one point in the semi-final, England were scoring 13-15 runs per over. If the game had gone to the end, they could have caused problems, so we sent Bumrah, Arshdeep, and Pandya to bowl. It paid off.
In particular, Bumrah has emerged as the best player of this generation, a world-class bowler. In fact, he deserves the Man of the Match award. If he hadn’t bowled so well in the death overs, India wouldn’t be in this position today. Samson said that all the bowlers including Bumrah should be praised for this.
