125 patrolling vehicles launched to improve electricity in Tamil Nadu, expansion of ‘Minnagam’ service

Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu government has taken a big step to further strengthen the power supply system in Chennai and reduce the problem of sudden power cuts. Energy and Law Minister CTR. Nirmal Kumar flagged off 125 patrolling vehicles in a program organized at Chennai Electricity Board Headquarters on Wednesday. The objective of these trains is to respond quickly to complaints related to power supply and ensure uninterrupted power service.
10 high-level special monitoring teams have also been included in these 125 patrolling vehicles, which will be deployed specifically in Chennai and its surrounding areas. These teams will work to immediately fix sudden power cuts and technical glitches that occur at night. The government believes that this will reduce response time in emergencies and people will not have to face prolonged power cuts.
During this programme, the Minister also expanded the already running ‘Minnagam’ service. Under this, 77 new power cut solution centers have been inaugurated. The objective of these centers is to register consumer complaints faster and ensure their immediate resolution. Through these centres, emphasis will be laid on solving problems related to power supply at the local level.
Talking to journalists after the program, Energy Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar said that there is no shortage of power generation or power purchase in the state. He clarified that there is sufficient electricity available in Tamil Nadu, but in some urban and rural areas, power interruptions occur due to technical reasons. These include faults in underground cables, transformer failure, heavy rain, wind, breakage of power lines and other technical problems.
The Minister said that this new system has been implemented to solve these problems quickly and to maintain stable power supply. With the help of patrolling vehicles and monitoring teams, faults will be immediately identified and repaired, so that the duration of power cut can be reduced.
The government aims to make power supply in Chennai and surrounding areas more reliable and uninterrupted in the times to come. Along with this, continuous improvements will be made at the technical and administrative level to provide fast and effective service to the consumers.
This initiative is being considered as an important step in the power system, which will not only enable quick response in emergency situations but will also provide better and stable power service to the citizens.
