Draft voter list: 2.5 million voters in 16 constituencies under Chennai Corporation.

Tamil Nadu: Returning Officer and Corporation Commissioner J. Kumarakurubaran said that 25.6 lakh voters in the 16 assembly constituencies under the Chennai Corporation have filled out and returned the voter list revision forms, and they have been included in the draft voter list.

It was also announced that new voter registration forms will be distributed from Monday (December 15).

The intensive revision of the electoral roll (SIR) in Tamil Nadu began on November 4. Temporary officials were appointed and the work was carried out at 3,718 polling stations across the 16 assembly constituencies under the Chennai Corporation.

40.04 lakh forms: SIR calculation forms were distributed to 40.04 lakh voters in these 16 constituencies. The process of collecting these forms is ongoing.

The counting of votes was completed on Sunday (December 14). According to this, forms have been received back from 25.6 lakh people (64 percent). 14.4 lakh people have not filled out and submitted the forms. It has been found that 1.50 lakh people have died.

Forms distributed today: When asked about the voter correction process, Chennai District Election Officer J. Kumarakurubaran said that excluding those who have died and those whose forms were not filled out and submitted, others can obtain Form 6 again for new voter registration, fill it out, and get included in the voter list. Forms for them will be distributed from Monday (December 15).
