Mohali CBI court issues notice to declare Thakur Dalip Singh a fugitive

Punjab: The CBI Special Court, Mohali, has issued a public notice declaring Thakur Dalip Singh a fugitive (proclaimed offender). During the hearing, the court took a strict stance, noting that the accused was neither appearing in court nor disclosing his current whereabouts. This order came after nine years of investigation and the accused’s continued disappearance. The court also published public notices in prominent media outlets declaring Thakur Dalip Singh a declared offender. He has been directed to appear in court by April 8th. The order states that if he fails to do so, he will be officially declared a declared offender.
Cases were registered against Thakur Dalip Singh at three different police stations. He was named in the murder of Mata Chand Kaur, the conspiracy to attack Satguru Uday Singh and Mata Chand Kaur’s son-in-law, Jagtar Singh, as well as the murder of Namdhari Avtar Singh. In 2017, these cases were combined and transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The CBI registered a case in Chandigarh and began its investigation, but the accused failed to appear in court, following which a fugitive notice was issued. A senior police officer said, “If he is declared a fugitive, the CBI and police can initiate the process of attaching Dalip Singh’s properties.”
