Samrat Choudhary Sworn In as Bihar CM, Ending Nitish Kumar Era

Senior BJP leader Samrat Choudhary has been sworn in as the new CM of Bihar. He was sworn in at a function held at Lok Bhavan in Patna on Wednesday. Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath to Samrat. It is known that Nitish Kumar, who was the CM till now, resigned on Tuesday. He has become a member of the Rajya Sabha. Now Samrat Choudhary has taken charge as the CM in his place.
The NDA coalition government is currently in force in Bihar with the JDU, BJP and other parties. While Nitish has been serving as the CM from JDU for a while, BJP leader Samrat Chowdhury, who has been the Deputy CM for a while, has taken over the CM post. With the BJP getting the CM post, JDU has got two Deputy CM posts. JDU MLA Vijay Kumar Chowdhury and Bijendra Prasad Yadav have been elected as Deputy CMs. They will get the status of Cabinet Ministers. This is the first time that the BJP has taken over the CM post in Bihar. So far, the BJP has been a partner in the government for two decades. But, the BJP has never been given the CM post. Samrat took over the CM post for the first time from that party and achieved a rare feat.
Samrat. Immediately after taking oath as CM, Samrat reached the Secretariat and took charge. Samrat is currently the 16th BJP leader to hold the post of CM in the country. That is, BJP leaders are currently holding the post of CM in 16 states. Bihar is the 19th state in the country to have got the post of CM from BJP so far. Samrat is the 57th person in the history of BJP to have got the post of CM from that party. He was previously in RJD and joined BJP in 2017. The cabinet expansion will take place in Bihar next month.
