Karnataka: The sounds of Dhanurmas puja are resonating in the temples.

Karnataka: Dhanurmas Puja has begun in several villages and hills of the taluk, as well as in dozens of temples in the city. Since December 16th, devotees have been performing devotional chanting, penance, and prayers in the early morning hours, and the sounds of devotion and the ringing of bells can be heard in the temples.
Religious activities for Dhanu Sankranti are taking place at the city’s Gowrishwara Temple, Chikka Tirupati, Agara Rameshwaram, Ankala Parameshwari, and Biligirivasana temples. From 4 AM to 6 AM, during the auspicious Brahma Muhurta, emphasis is placed on worshipping the deities, and the recitation of Mahalakshmi, Narayana Parayana, and the thirty mantras of Lakshmi, along with special decorations, attracts devotees.
No auspicious ceremonies are performed during Dhanurmas. This period is reserved for Subramanya and Narayana worship, chanting, and fasting. Lakshmi Puja is given special importance and is considered Lakshmi Kataksha Masa (a month of Lakshmi’s blessings). It is believed that if the Goddess is worshipped wholeheartedly during this time, the household will be blessed with knowledge, humility, wealth, fame, and liberation. Therefore, it is considered auspicious for those whose Sun transits from Sagittarius to Capricorn to perform special puja rituals in temples, according to Sundarappa, the priest of the Ankala Parameshwari Temple.
