Husband arrested for allegedly beating wife to death on mere suspicion
A husband has been accused of murdering his wife in Patharprati, South 24 Parganas. The deceased has been identified as Anupama Halder. The police have already arrested the accused husband Anup Halder. The incident took place on Friday night in the Dakshin Durgapur area of Patharprati. According to sources, Anup suspected that his wife was having an extramarital affair. Due to which there were often quarrels and unrest between them. The police have started investigating the incident.
According to police and local sources, Anupama was married to Anup about 22 years ago. They also have a 20-year-old child. It is said that there was a marital dispute between them for a long time. Due to which Anupama used to live in her father’s house with her child.
The police further said that the accused Anup used to work as a migrant worker in another state. A few months ago, Anup returned home and brought his wife with him. But even that did not reduce the unrest. Anup started suspecting his wife’s behavior again. Allegedly, the dispute between them reached a climax on Thursday night. At that time, Anup allegedly attacked his wife in anger. It is said that Anupama died on the spot due to the injuries sustained in the beating.
