National Human Rights Commission Serious About Caste Discrimination Attack In Kummera

Hyderabad: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken a serious view of the caste discrimination attack and police negligence in Nagarkurnool. It has ordered the district administration to submit a report on the incident within four weeks.

Responding to a complaint filed by advocate Vinod Hindustani, the commission issued notices to the Nagarkurnool District Collector and SP, asking them to submit an action taken report (ATR) on the incident within four weeks.

On the 18th of this month, during the Kummera Mallanna Swamy Jatara, a family of Chandrakala in Chilukeswaram was denied entry into the temple and a two-month-old baby was deliberately trampled to death. The lawyer has alleged in his complaint to the commission that the police have been negligent in taking action against the accused.
