Taiwan minister wishes Republic Day to India

TAIPEI: Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu on Monday congratulated India on the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya and India’s 75th Republic Day and said he loves India. Highlighting the India-Taiwan elections, Yadav said bilateral economic ties have strengthened over the past decade, with two-way trade growing from US$2 billion in 2006 to US$10.9 billion in fiscal year 2022-2023.
He expressed hope that this positive momentum will continue in the coming years, adding, “Taiwanese businesses have been one of the biggest beneficiaries of India’s recent manufacturing policies, such as Make in India and Production-Linked Initiatives (PLI) schemes.”
Highlighting cultural exchanges, according to Yadav, Taiwan also hosts over 3000 Indian students, most of whom are enrolled in undergraduate programmes.

He further said that the economic and people-to-people ties between India and Taiwan were appreciated as having all the right ingredients. “It has strong core principles of shared democratic values; It has unique supplements that can be taken advantage of; And it has a large number of friends, like those here, who are willing to make the necessary efforts. India and Taiwan are bound to grow together for a prosperous and peaceful future,” Yadav said.

Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu during the welcome ceremony lauded India as one of the world’s leading global powers and cordial relations with Taiwan in areas such as trade, investment, science, technology and medicine, leading to Win-win results emerged for both sides. , Focus Taiwan reported.
