Take prompt action on public complaints, J&K L-G tells officials
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha engaged in a productive interaction with the general public, addressing their concerns during the ‘L-G’s Mulaqaat- Live Public Grievance Hearing’ conducted virtually. During this session, the Lt Governor emphasized the importance of swift and transparent action on the received complaints, directing the officials to adhere to a time-bound resolution process.
Expressing gratitude, several applicants acknowledged the prompt resolution of their issues, showcasing the efficacy of the live public grievance hearing. Lt Governor Sinha underscored the significance of officers adopting a professional service provider role, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in addressing complaints and delivering public services.
“When it comes to handling complaints, grievances, and delivering public services, the officers need to act as professional service providers and keep the people in the loop on action taken, maintain standards of accountability, and always strive for improvement,” reiterated the Lt Governor.
During this month’s session, Lt Governor Sinha specifically addressed grievances filed on JKIGRAMS by residents from various regions, including Ramban, Rajouri, Poonch, Budgam, Anantnag, among others. He directed officials to actively listen to the concerns of the people and formulate a comprehensive strategy for the maintenance of essential infrastructure such as borewells, handpumps, power distribution lines, and the saturation of scholarships and pension schemes.
“The strongest pillar on which good governance rests is listening to one another,” emphasized the Lt Governor, highlighting the importance of an inclusive and responsive approach. Additionally, he commended the exemplary participation of both the public and officials in the 75th Republic Day celebrations, acknowledging their collective efforts towards national milestones.
