Tamil Nadu: 25-day grace period for buying LPG cylinders

Tamil Nadu: The central government has announced that the deadline for booking cooking gas cylinders has been extended from 21 days to 25 days.

In light of the severe shortage of crude oil and natural gas due to the war in West Asia, the central government has taken several emergency measures, including a ban on cooking gas cylinder bookings. Key decisions regarding this were taken at a high-level review meeting chaired by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Delhi on Monday.

Previously, cooking gas cylinder bookings could be made with a gap of 21 days, but now this has been extended to 25 days.

Accordingly, the next booking can only be made 25 days after the cylinder is delivered.

It is noteworthy that the Central Government has taken steps to import crude oil through other routes, as the Strait of Hormuz, which is used to transport crude oil and gas by ships from West Asia, has been closed due to the war.
