Tamil Nadu: Changes in the routes of express trains
Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: Southern Railway has informed that the routes of some express trains, including the Guruvayur to Chennai express train, have been changed on certain days.
A press release issued by Southern Railway on Sunday said: Due to maintenance work in Madurai Division, some train services have been changed. On March 7, 14, 21 and 28, the Howrah Express train (No. 12666) leaving Kanyakumari at 5.50 am will run via Madurai, Manamadurai, Karaikudi and Trichy. The train will not stop at Kodaikanal Road and Dindigul stations. Extra stops will be made at Sivaganga and Pudukkottai. The Chennai Egmore Express (No. 16128) will depart Guruvayur at 11:15 pm on March 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 and reach Egmore via Madurai, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, and Trichy. The train will not stop at Cholavandhan, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul, and Manapparai stations. It will also stop at Sivaganga and Pudukkottai.
The Hyderabad-Kanyakumari Special Train (No. 07229) will depart Kanyakumari at 5:15 am on March 6, 13, 20, and 27 and reach Hyderabad via Madurai, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, and Trichy. It will not reach Kodaikanal Road and Dindigul stations. Instead, it will stop at Aruppukkottai, Sivaganga, and Pudukkottai stations.
