Tamil Nadu: Demand for corruption-free governance intensifies, Coimbatore organization appeals to Chief Minister

Tamil Nadu: The demand for a corruption-free administration has once again intensified in Tamil Nadu. The Coimbatore District Anti-Corruption Movement has appealed to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to ensure a completely corruption-free governance system in the state, as promised. In this regard, the organization’s secretary, N.K. Velu, has sent a detailed memorandum (petition) to the Chief Minister.
The memorandum states that the Chief Minister’s promise to establish a corruption-free administration has further strengthened the trust of the people of the state in the government. The organization alleges that corruption has long been rampant in various government departments in Tamil Nadu, directly impacting the general public.
The petition also states that due to corruption, ordinary citizens are facing numerous hardships. Furthermore, cases of misuse and alleged plunder of natural resources have further aggravated the situation. The organization states that this has not only weakened law and order but also negatively impacted the state’s financial situation, increasing the debt burden on the government treasury.
The memorandum also noted that alleged irregularities have surfaced in the functioning of several prestigious universities and educational institutions, raising questions about the credibility of the education system.
The Anti-Corruption Movement alleges that corruption is not being effectively controlled due to the inaction and alleged acquiescence of responsible officials at the administrative level. Consequently, corruption continues unabated in various departments.
The organization urged the Chief Minister to take strict measures to strengthen transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in all administrative sectors of the state. It also demanded a comprehensive and effective campaign against corruption to further strengthen public confidence in the administration.
The memorandum stated that if the government takes concrete steps in this direction, it will not only improve governance but also strengthen the state’s development and economic stability.
Following this appeal, political and social discussions regarding corruption and administrative reforms have once again heated up in Tamil Nadu.
