Tamil Nadu government is discussing holiday

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government is considering whether to declare a holiday on November 15 as Diwali falls on a Sunday.

Thousands of government employees and students in Chennai go to their native places every week on Friday and return on Sunday. Since the Diwali weekend may also pass like a regular weekend for holidaymakers, the government is discussing making Monday a holiday.

In case Monday is declared a holiday, there will be another Saturday working day to compensate for it.
