Tamil Nadu: Special children travel by metro train

Tamil Nadu: On the occasion of Persons with Disabilities Day, 167 special children from various districts of Tamil Nadu traveled for free on the Chennai Metro on Tuesday.
A press release issued by the Metro Administration states: Persons with Disabilities Day is celebrated on December 3. On this occasion, a total of 167 special children studying in government special schools from various parts of Tamil Nadu traveled for free on the metro train. They traveled from the Chennai Airport Metro to the A.G.D.M.S. Metro Station. Their teachers also traveled with them.
This transportation experience was provided to children with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities so that they could learn about the metro rail system and travel on their own.
The tour was attended by So. Madhumathi, Secretary of the Department of Persons with Disabilities Welfare, M. Lakshmi, Department Commissioner, P. Phomi Vidya, Joint Director, and Gopinath Mallya, Chief Advisor of the Chennai Metro Rail Corporation.
