CHENNAI: In an effort to tackle the spread of monsoon-related diseases, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniam on Friday said the state government has decided to organize special fever camps in the monsoon and 1,000 camps every week throughout the monsoon season. is planned.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniam said this while addressing the media in a press conference held in Chennai on Friday.

“As per the advice of the Chief Minister, a weekly special fever camp is being organized every week during the monsoon season. Even before the Central Government advised to control dengue, our state government had decided to organize special fever camps in monsoon and 1000 camps every week throughout the monsoon session. “It was planned to be conducted, and it will be done by the end of this year,” the minister said.

“This monsoon special fever camp was started last month (October) on 29th with 1000 camps. Last week, the second monsoon fever camp was conducted at 2220 places, benefiting more than one lakh people, and 300 to 400 The symptoms were found to be fever among the people; everyone was given treatment,” he said.

“Today, the 3rd fever camp is being organized at more than 2,000 locations across the state. We will have the 4th and 5th monsoon special fever camps on November 18 and 25. In December, 5 camps will be organized, and in total, Subramaniam said Said, “10 monsoon special camps will be organized in Tamil Nadu.”

He said, “I appeal to the people that since dengue, malaria and viral fever are prevalent, people should utilize and avail the benefits of these special fever camps.”

“Today the Health Secretary, officials and I inspected the Chennai Shenoy Nagar Monsoon Special Fever Camp. Dengue is now under control in Tamil Nadu,” he said.

“Chennai Corporation is working on destroying dengue mosquitoes and spreading awareness among the people to ensure that they do not allow water to stagnate near their premises. On November 15, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate the Pudhukottai Dental College through video conferencing. This will be the third dental government college in Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu Health Minister said.
