Target of Rs 26 thousand crore for Stamp and Registration Department

Bengaluru: The state budget has set the revenue collection target for the stamp and registration department at Rs 26,000 crore for 2024-25, while it is Rs 19,000 crore for 2023-24. Of the amount of Rs 26,000 crore, Rs 19,000-20,000 crore can be raised through registrable fees and the remaining Rs 5,000-6,000 crore through non-registrable fees. The guidance price is supposed to be increased every year, but this was not done since 2019. Sources said it was increased by 15 percent in 2023-24.
However, it is difficult to raise Rs 5,000-6,000 crore from the nominal increase in non-registrable documents, he said.
Allocation for Law Department
In order to provide speedy justice to farmers and economically weaker persons, action has been taken to enact the Code of Civil Procedure (Karnataka Amendment) Act, 2023 and the Karnataka High Court Act to reduce the number of already pending cases and Amendments have also been made to the Karnataka Civil Courts Act.
