Tata Curvv EV with up to 585 km range launched, Price starts at Rs 17.49 lakh

Tata Motors has launched its much-awaited Curvv EV in India, which will be the fifth all-electric vehicle of the company. The MG ZS EV has a mid-range price between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (Ex-showroom). The Curvv EV sports a futuristic look with all-electric design elements. It has advanced specifications and packs ample safety features.

Moreover, the company claims that it can deliver a range of up to 585 km on a single charge. It can speed from 0-100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds.

The Curvv EV features a closed-off ‘grille’, and a lower bumper area with vertical styling elements. It features 18-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 tryes that have an aero-optimised design. It also has connected LED lights at front and rear. The Curvv.ev branding is placed above the bumper at the front and the rear part.

The EV features a nose-mounted charging port with the Tata logo embeded into it. The charging port can closes by itself after the EV starts.

Tata has also introduced its official line of accessories called Tata.ev Originals, so that buyers can personalise the exterior and interior of the Curvv EV.

The Curvv EV flaunts a white and grey dual tone paint option. Meanwhile, the Curvv ICe version has a red and grey finish. Like Nexon, the Curvv EV features a 12.3-inch floating infotainment touchscreen at the centre, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation, a touch-based climate control panel, four-spoke steering , and trapezoidal AC vents.

However, the digital instrument cluster will only be available with the top-spec models. The centre console features a rotary drive selector, a gear lever, and a wireless charging pad. The Curvv EV gets a frunk and up to 500 litres boot space to carry more luggage.

The other features on the latest Tata EV includes leatherette upholstery, connected car tech, ventilated six-way adjustable front seats, a two-step rear seat recline function, a cooled glove box, front and rear 45W Type-C charging ports, a panoramic sunroof, the Arcade.ev app suite, and a powered tail gate with gesture control. Moreover, the top-spec versions also get a 320W 9-speaker JBL sound system.

Safety features offered on EV include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS features, an electronic parking brake with auto hold function, hill-start and descent assist, a driver drowsiness alert system, a blind spot monitor, and ESP. The Curvv EV comes with an sound alert up to speeds of 20kph to warn pedestrians.

Tata Curvv EV range, battery details
The Curvv EVis offered in Creative, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A variants. It is offered in two battery pack options: a 45kWh unit for the Creative, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S variants, and the second option is a 55kWh one for the Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A variants.

The 45kWh pack provides an MIDC range of 502 km, while the 55kWh pack offers 585 km on a single charge. Meanwhile, thecompany claims that the 45kWh pack will deliver 330-350km range and the 55kWh one will achieve a 400-425km in real-world figure as per its C75 standard.

The 55kWh variants get a 167hp electric motor mounted on the front axle, while the 45kWh ones get a 150hp motor; both make 215Nm of torque.

The long-range variant of Curvv EV can sprints from 0-100kph in a claimed 8.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160kph. Meanwhile, the 45kWh model has a claimed 0-100kph time of 9 seconds.

It comes with advanced charging technology that is claimed to charge the battery up to 150km in just 15 minutes, and 10-80 percent charge in 40 minutes using a 70kW charger. The iRA app is said to have an integrated charge point, and the model comes with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.

Tata Curvv EV is also claimed to have a 50:50 front to rear weight distribution, a 190mm ground clearance and 450mm water wading depth.
