Telangana: Government told the court – there is no delay in distribution of cheques
Hyderabad. Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on Wednesday submitted before the High Court that there is no truth in the claim of BRS MLA from Huzurabad constituency Padi Kaushik Reddy that there has been a delay in distributing the cheques related to Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak to the beneficiaries. The BRS MLA told the High Court that the government officials did not allow him to distribute the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques and the cheques will expire soon as the last date for depositing the cheques is June 27. The Court on Tuesday questioned the State Government’s reasoning on the issue. Following the directions of the Murmu Court, Telangana Additional Advocate General Imran Khan, representing the State Government, on Wednesday informed the High Court that Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the Huzurabad constituency. He also said that 71 cheques have already been sent to the respective banks and the validity of the cheques issued to the beneficiaries is August, 2024, and not June 27, as argued by Kaushik Reddy. The additional AG also told the judge that the eligible beneficiaries, who would suffer loss due to non-disbursement of cheques, are not before the court and the issue of non-issuance of cheques has been raised only to gain political advantage.
