Tent businessman dies due to bullet fired in harsh firing
Sultanpur. Despite the ban on joyous firing in wedding ceremonies and other auspicious events, people are not desisting. A tent businessman was shot dead due to harsh firing during the Dwar Puja at a wedding ceremony. Police reached the spot after receiving the information and are engaged in legal proceedings.
Pratibha, daughter of Harishankar Tiwari, resident of Shiv Nagar, Bedupara ward of Lambhua Kotwali area of the district, was to be married to Lavkush, son of Shyam Narayan Dwivedi, resident of Dubeypur (Nuawa) of Amethi district. On Tuesday, the wedding procession from Amethi had come to Shiv Nagar, Bedupara ward of Lambhua. Late in the night at around 10.30 pm, during the Dwar Puja, someone started firing joyfully.
During the harsh firing, tent businessman Hemant Mishra (22), son of Bablu Mishra, resident of Devadh Khurd Kadipur, who had set up tents in the marriage procession, was shot in the stomach. The injured youth was immediately brought to the Medical College, Sultanpur for treatment. The doctors present there declared him dead. On getting information about the death of the young man, the people who brought him to the hospital ran away leaving the injured young man behind. On receiving information, Nagar Kotwali police sent the body of the youth to the mortuary.
According to the information received, the family members of the deceased youth have filed a complaint against two named and four unknown persons. Lambhua police station incharge Shivakant Tripathi said that the incident site was inspected at night. A complaint has been received and the body is being sent for post-mortem while taking legal action.
