Four years after its global debut, Tesla’s Cybertruck has finally hit the roads in the United States, marked with a grand delivery event at the Gigafactory in Texas. Contrary to Musk’s earlier statements, the price of the electric pickup truck has seen a minimum 50% increase. Nearly 2 million customers who have booked the Cybertruck over the past four years now face a starting price of $61,000 (roughly Rs. 50.82 lakh), with a price that could potentially reach $100,000 (roughly Rs. 83.30 lakh). The initial estimated price four years ago was around $40,000.
In a surprise move, Musk posted a video showing a drag race between a Tesla Cybertruck and a Porsche 911 on a designated drag strip. The Cybertruck, with its quick electric power, took the lead from the start and maintained its lead throughout the race. According to Tesla, the Tesla Cybertruck can cover a quarter mile in less than 11 seconds, demonstrating its acceleration capability. In comparison, the entry-level Porsche 911 Carrera has a quarter mile time of 11.5 seconds.
