The collector reached the last village by walking through footpaths and unpaved road

Raigarh. Collector and District Election Officer Ajit Vasant in Balsendha and Malikchar, dependent villages of Amaldiha Gram Panchayat, located at the remote and extreme end of Korba block bordering the district, had chosen to conduct sweep activities to make rural voters aware. Today, to ensure his participation in the sweep program and to motivate the villagers of remote Vananchal area to vote, Collector Vasant walked for about one and a half kilometers through footpaths and unpaved roads. The Collector explained the importance of voting to the rural voters under SVEEP and appealed to them to vote for the candidates of their choice. The Collector said that everyone’s vote is important in building democracy. The more we all participate in voting, the stronger our democracy will be. He appealed to the voters to vote without any kind of inducement. During this, District Panchayat CEO Sambit Mishra and other officials were present.

Voter awareness program was conducted under SVEEP in village Malikchhar, the last end of Korba district, which is adjacent to the border of Raigarh district. During this time a foot rally was taken out in the village. Messages were given to the villagers to vote. In the programme, the Collector participated in the voter awareness rally by walking on foot with the villagers. He also took an oath to vote along with the villagers. During this, the Collector also inspected the rangoli made under slogan writing and voter awareness.

For the election of Lok Sabha members, the Collector appealed to the voters to be alert in the polling stations from 07 am to 06 pm on Tuesday, May 07, to participate in this great festival of democracy and to vote peacefully in a fair and transparent manner. He said that every voter’s vote is invaluable in building a strong democracy and it is the duty of every voter to vote. He said that when you go to vote, you must carry your voter identity card (EPIC card) and the prescribed identity card with photo. You can vote for the candidate of your choice through the electronic voting machine in the polling station. The villagers were excited to see Collector Shri Ajit Vasant in their area after conducting voter awareness program under SVEEP in the remote Vananchal village Malikchhar and everyone resolved to vote in his presence.
