The culprit of murder case got life imprisonment
Gariaband. The Additional Sessions Court has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment in a murder case. Court Additional Sessions Judge Tajeshwari Devi Dewangan has punished murder accused Pritam Oti, father of Chherku Ram Oti, age 49, Sakin- Kochaimuda police station- Piparchedi district- Gariaband, with life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000. Janak Ram Sahu, Additional Public Prosecutor told that the applicant Suresh Kumar Sori, father Heera Lal Sori, resident of village Kochaimuda police station Piparchedi had written a report that on 17.09.2019, when he returned home from village Kopecsa at around 01 am, he saw that his wife was dead. Jayanti Bai was not in the room. Searched around for an address but couldn’t find it. Based on the above information from the applicant, Piparchedi police station registered a missing person case and conducted the investigation. On 20.09.2019, when the body of deceased Jayati Bai was found in the pit of the forest of Kurubhatha in village Kochaimuda, the police conducted Panchnama and took the body into investigation. After recording the memorandum statement from accused Pritam OT in front of the witnesses, the accused told during interrogation that he was having an illicit relationship with the deceased Jayanti Bai for about a year. Due to this, on 17.09.2019, at around 10 pm, he went to the deceased’s house and called the deceased and both of them went to the Kurubhatha forest, where, taking the opportunity, they pulled the deceased around her neck and killed her. This case was based on circumstantial evidence. After a thorough investigation of the case by the police, a charge sheet was presented in the court against the accused under section 302, 201 of the Indian Penal Code. The proceedings of the case started in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Tajeshwari Devi Devgan. The prosecution examined a total of 16 witnesses. Additional Sessions Judge Tajeshwari Devi Dewangan found the accused guilty on the basis of circumstantial evidence in the case and sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000.
