The Surguja police has got a major success in arresting four members of the inter-state gang from Amethi, who entered into marriage ceremonies in Chhattisgarh along with Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The police have recovered 5 pieces of mobiles and Rs 29,000 in cash from the possession of the accused, along with a four-wheeler suitable for the incident and have started further action.
Disclosing the matter, District Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Shukla said that on May 5, Kedarpur resident Raju Aggarwal lodged a complaint with the Manipur police station and told that his son’s marriage ceremony was going on at Purple Orchid Hotel. Meanwhile, a bag full of envelopes meant for the guests was stolen by unknown persons. This incident of theft was also captured in the CCTV camera installed in the hotel. Surguja police, engaged in the investigation of the case, formed a special team and started searching for the accused.
A special team formed by the police went to Amethi in Uttar Pradesh to arrest the accused, where four accused, including a minor who had committed the theft, were caught and taken to Ambikapur, where the accused confessed to their crime during the initial interrogation itself. The accused said that before this, theft incidents have been carried out by them at many places in Chhattisgarh including Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Taking action against the accused in the entire case under relevant sections, the police have sent them to jail on judicial remand. Please tell that 1 minor is also included in the arrested accused.
