On Thursday, SSP Pramendra Dobal revealed the murder at the district police headquarters. SSP said that on November 9, the body of the woman was found in the forest adjacent to the footpath before Chandidevi Ropeway. The deceased could not be identified. The woman was strangled to death.
Police teams formed to uncover the murder case searched the footage of CCTV cameras from far and wide, after which a woman similar to the deceased was seen with a man at Chandi Ghat, Harki Paidi, Mansa Devi Marg and Upper Road. .
In the CCTV camera installed at Chandighat Chowk, a person of the same appearance was seen passing through on foot and then by auto. According to SSP, after interrogating this auto driver, the police team reached Parmanand Vihar Colony of SIDCUL. After much effort, through CCTV footage, the police team arrested Ajay son Rajveer, resident of Sunderpur police station, Hazratpur district, Badaun UP Hall, resident of Parmanand Vihar Colony, from Roshanabad area. took.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that the deceased was his wife Afsana alias Pooja. He had met her in Sidcul two years ago, after which he got her converted and married her. Confessed that some time after marriage, she had gone missing on the pretext of visiting her relatives.
Since then the husband was busy searching for her. Ajay, who returned here some time ago, came to know about his wife being in a live-in relationship with a young man. He found his wife and convinced her to live with him again.
Due to daily disputes over small matters, the husband decided to kill his wife. In a planned manner, he took his wife to the forest adjacent to Chandidevi footpath and strangulated her to death, after which the accused went to Badaun. On returning here the police team arrested him. On this occasion, SP Crime Ajay Ganpati Kumbhar, SP City Swatantra Kumar Singh, SO Nitesh Sharma were present.
According to the police, Ajay was very sensitive towards Afsana. He confessed before the police that the aim of his life was only to find Afsana alias Pooja. When she met him, she started arguing over the answers to the questions raised about his infidelity.
Therefore he thought it right to choose the path of murder. IG Garhwal has announced a reward of Rs 10 and SSP Rs 5,000. The accused husband had fled from the spot after killing his wife. After investigation, the police arrested the accused husband.
