The land is spoiled by the poison of industries

Tahliwal. The local people are angry over the lack of action being taken on the damage caused by the contaminated water coming out of the industries in Tahliwal that are 30 to 35 years old. In Ward-5 of the Nagar Panchayat, the crops of the local people are suffering major damage due to the contaminated water coming out from the industries of Tahliwal.

Crops are getting spoiled and the land is getting polluted due to the chemical-laden water coming out from the industries near the Nagar Panchayat office. People troubled by this problem showed their anger on Sunday by protesting against the government including industry managements, Nagar Panchayat and administration.

Among the local people protesting, Bhag Singh, Neeranjan Singh, Gurnam Singh, Somnath, Jagtar Singh, Indu Bala, Bholi Devi, Mohan Lal, Om Prakash, Naresh Kumar, Manohar, Subhash, Satpal, Dilwag Singh said that the management of the industries Despite repeated requests no one took cognizance of this. People said that contaminated water containing chemicals comes out from about six industries. Due to which the crops on our lands are getting ruined and the houses are facing problems due to bad smell.

Local people said that this matter was raised several times with the industry management and the Nagar Panchayat, but till date no action has been taken on it. People have appealed to the administration to take action on this as soon as possible. According to the local people, if the Nagar Panchayat, administration and government continue to ignore this problem, then the time is not far when along with land pollution, ground water will also get polluted.

After which people will yearn for drinking water and people will become vulnerable to serious diseases due to polluted water. Apart from this, due to the foul smell spread by contaminated dirty water, the local people are at risk of epidemic spreading in the area.

According to these people, the local people have been raising their voice regarding this problem for the last 30 to 35 years, but no concrete steps have been taken by the district administration and the state government, which is a matter of great shame. During elections, leaders of different parties come to seek votes, but no concrete steps are being taken to solve this problem.
