The last rites of the dead of Rali Chauhan accident took place.

Meerut. Six people of Rali Chauhan village of Bhavanpur, who died after getting electrocuted by high tension line while returning from Haridwar after taking Kanwar water, were cremated in a sad atmosphere in the village after 20 hours. After a long discussion with the DM and SSP, the family agreed for the last rites. Now five lakh rupees will be given to the families of the youths killed in the accident. Apart from this, one lakh will be received from the Electricity Department. A group of 20 people from Rali Chauhan village had gone on July 4 to take the 26.5 feet tall DJ to Kanwar by keeping it in a tractor trolley. On the day of Saturday Shivratri, when Kanwar was returning back to the village, as soon as he entered the contact road, Kanwar came in contact with the 11,000 high tension line. Himanshu, Prashant, Mahendra, Lakshya and Manish were killed and more than a dozen people were injured due to the sudden current. The relatives had blocked the road all night demanding action against a junior engineer of the Electricity Department. The villagers had opened the way after talking to the officials in the morning. District Magistrate Deepak Meena said that five lakh would be given to the kin of the deceased and one lakh more under the Electricity Safety Act. The District Officer said that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the ADM administration. In this, officers of SP Traffic, PWD and Power Corporation have been kept. The committee will submit its report in 48 hours. He told that action will be taken on the villagers who have pointed out some problems. DM told that six people have died in the accident and one youth is seriously injured. He is undergoing treatment in Anand. While eight injured people have gone home after treatment. After listening to the words of DM and SSP, the family members agreed to perform the last rites of their children. Late in the evening, the dead bodies of all the six people were cremated in a sad atmosphere. BJP leader Samay Singh Saini said that Rs 3 lakh would be given to the next of kin of all the six people killed in the accident. Apart from this, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will also come to meet the bereaved family.
