Dhamtari: Daughters studying in government schools are now not only studying in schools but are also learning the skills of living life. Girls studying in government schools are being taught self-defense skills under the Rani Lakshmibai Self Defense Training Scheme.

Daughters are being given training on how to give a befitting reply when someone tries to misbehave with them. A large number of girl students are participating in this training being conducted in schools. Parents of girls are also sending their daughters to school to learn self-defense skills.

Vijay Kumar, resident of Dahi village, gives karate training to Sonwali girls. Sonwali himself is a black belt and also the father of daughters. Vijay tells that earlier the girls were nervous about learning karate. Parents were also hesitant in getting their girls trained. Due to the efforts of school teachers and people, today most of the girl students are taking karate training here. Girls learning karate have now developed a serious sense of safety. The students say that now if anyone harasses them, they will confront them with courage and give them a befitting reply. Seeing the courage of the daughters, now both the school teachers and their families are happy.
