The name of Matar Pulao is enough to make the mouth water, it is the soul of every party-function.

There is no dearth of people who like pulao in our country. Pulao is an important food item. Be it a party or function, you will definitely get Pulao. Even at home, people often like to prepare and eat pulao. Pulao is made in many ways. Many varieties like Paneer, Jeera, Dry Fruits, Shahi Pulao are quite famous. One such famous variety is Matar Pulao. This is a very tasty dish. It greatly enhances the taste of food. It can be prepared and eaten any time for lunch or dinner. Although it is quite light, it is a perfect choice for dinner. Material Rice – 1/2 cup Peas – 2 cups Tomato – 2 Potato – 2 Onion – 2-3 Green chilli – 2-3 Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp Cumin – 1 tsp Turmeric – 1/2 tsp Garam masala – 1/2 tsp Biryani masala – 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp Large cardamom – 2 Small cardamom – 2 Asafoetida – 1 pinch Cinnamon – 2 pieces Green coriander chopped – 2 tbsp Lemon – 1/2 Bay leaves – 2 Oil – 2 tbsp Salt – as per taste Method – First of all clean the rice and wash it with water. After this, soak the rice in water for some time. Now cut onion, tomato, green chilli and potato into pieces. After this, put oil in the cooker and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin and asafoetida and fry. When the cumin seeds start crackling, add finely chopped onion, green chillies, potatoes and peas and fry them lightly while stirring with a ladle. After this, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and other dry spices to this mixture and mix with a ladle and fry well. After frying for 2-3 minutes, when the onion and tomatoes become completely soft, add the soaked rice to the cooker and fry for some time while stirring. – After this, add water as per requirement in the cooker, cover and cook for 10 minutes. If you want, you can cover the cooker and take 2-3 whistles. – After the stipulated time, turn off the gas flame and open the lid to see whether the pulao is completely ready or not. – If the rice is not completely cooked, let it cook for some more time. – If the cooker has a whistle, then let its pressure release automatically and then open the lid. – Pea Pulao is ready. Take it out in a serving plate, garnish with green coriander leaves and add lemon juice.
