Bilaspur. Sarpanch of Dhandhan near Takhatpur and his companions tied a villager to an iron pole and beat him with a lathi rod. It is said that even after taking the bribe, the sarpanch did not add his name to the Prime Minister’s residence. The police have registered an offense in the matter.
Shivcharan, a villager of Dhandhan has filed a report in the police station that he had given Rs 20,000 in cash to sarpanch Umesh Dhruv for allotment of Prime Minister’s residence, but his name did not figure in the housing approval list. Due to this he was demanding money back but the sarpanch kept hesitating to give it.
Sarpanch Umesh Dhruv and along with him Narendra Dhruv, Dilesh Karsh, Shivam Karsh, Harish Kaushik, Niranjan Kaushik, Mallu God, Ajay Kenwat, Ramesh Dhruv, Akash Sahu, Sanjay Sahu and other companions reached the intersection at 6 pm on August 8. They thrashed Shivcharan, picked him up and took him inside the hotel. Here, after tying his hand with a rope to an iron pole, abusing him, threatening to kill him and thrashing him with a stick and an iron rod. Shivcharan suffered severe head, jaw, back and head injuries as a result of the assault and he fell unconscious. The police have registered offenses under sections 147, 148, 294, 506, 323, 342 against the accused.
