Indore: All BJP and Congress candidates have filed their nominations in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. After filing nominations, all the candidates have started campaigning in their ward. Out of the nine assembly seats of Indore, BJP candidates have started campaigning in five different assemblies of the city. A video of Indore Assembly Constituency Number 5 is making headlines on social media. Mahendra Hardiya, who has been a continuous MLA since 2003, was welcomed in a unique manner. He was garlanded with so many garlands that only his mouth was visible and he seemed buried under the garlands.
It is noteworthy that Assembly Number 5 is mostly a Muslim dominated area. Despite being a Muslim dominated area, Congress gets only a few votes and BJP wins its candidate with a huge majority.
This seat, which was held by BJP in the last four elections, this time again the party has fielded Mahendra Hardiya as its candidate. If we talk about the 2018 assembly elections, in the last contest BJP had won this seat by a margin of just 1133 votes. In the year 2018, 13 candidates stood from this seat where Mahendra Hadiya got 1,17,836 votes while Satyanarayan Patel of Congress got 1,16,703 votes. This time both the candidates are again face to face and this time also there is talk of a close contest between them.
There are a total of 3,74,032 voters in Assembly Number 5. Out of which the number of male voters was 1,93,949. In comparison to them, if we talk about women voters, the number is 1,80,068 women.
Since the 2003 assembly elections, this seat has been in the name of Mahendra Hardiya. Bharatiya Janata Party has once again fielded him in the election field. It remains to be seen whether Mahendra Hardia will be able to maintain the winning streak once again or not.
