There is a great need for innovative training for young aviators
CHENNAI: Air Force chief Air Marshal VR Choudhary on Saturday said the need of the hour is to produce more capable, young aviators and the training should also go beyond the traditional learning environment.
He was addressing a seminar organized at Air Force Station, Tambaram on the occasion of platinum jubilee celebrations of Flying Instructors School (FIS) here.
“The need of the hour is to produce more capable, young aviators and induct them into the fleet faster and more efficiently. We need to move beyond the linear progression of traditional learning environments to a student-centred model in which learning and skill development is tailored to each individual.
“Gone are the days of one size fits all,” he said. He further said, “The convergence of cutting-edge technology in the aviation sector is opening up new opportunities for us to take advantage,” and identified the need for an organization to recognize the value of new external information, assimilate it and apply it . Operational success.
The Air Force Chief said that this is where people like FIS play an important role.
Earlier, an impressive fly-past consisting of training aircraft and helicopters was conducted at the Air Force station.
