There is nothing in the world comparable to the Tamil language: SC Justice

Tamil Nadu: Supreme Court Justice Arangam Mahadevan said that there is nothing like Tamil in this world, which teaches everything from love and goodness through its works.
In memory of writer Ma. Aranganathan, the ‘Ma. Aranganathan Literary Awards’ have been given since 2018 to two individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of literature in the form of poetry, novels, short stories, articles, plays, and criticism. The awards carry a prize money of ₹1 lakh. This year’s awards ceremony took place on Thursday at the Rani Sita Arangam on Anna Salai in Chennai. Supreme Court Justice Aranganathan Mahadevan presided over the ceremony and presented the Ma. Aranganathan Literary Awards to writers K. Vittal Rao and Amshan Kumar, saying:
Tamil is not a common language. There is no other language like it. Tamil is a language that teaches us everything we need for a better life through its excellent works, such as what love is, what goodness is, and what true impact is.
Critics in Tamil Nadu say that Ma. Aranganathan can be counted among the many writers who followed in the footsteps of Pudumaipithan. Ma. Aranganathan was a writer who embraced the writings of writers who blended modernity and integrated the old and the modern. He didn’t stop at literature. He had brilliant ideas about the art of poetry. Similarly, he was known for his knowledge of music and his broad perspective on paintings. This award is named after such renowned Aranganathan.
My relationship with the now award-winning Vittal Rao began when I was in the third grade in school. He shared a room with my father in the 1960s. Vittal Rao lived his life in harmony with Ma. Aranganathan’s literary and unique life. He has been a storyteller since childhood. He has written hundreds of short stories. He has a deep knowledge of world cinema and is a great fan of music. His book “Tamilaka Kottagal,” which he wrote after researching the forts of Tamil Nadu, became famous. Vittal Rao is a prolific writer, painter, and photographer, as well as a multi-talented artist.
Amshan Kumar’s book “Cinema Rasanai” will guide you in understanding the beauty, theory, and world cinema. This book carefully examines the unique works of world-class directors. Documentaries have changed the history of the world. Making documentaries is even more difficult than actually making a film. Amshan Kumar has trained many young people in documentary filmmaking. His directorial debut, “Adhikar of Manushyaon,” teaches us to love humanity.
