They were planning to steal from Ambani’s wedding house, caught by police
New Delhi. Rajkot City Crime Branch has arrested five members of Tamil Nadu’s “Trichy Gang” from Delhi with cash and goods worth Rs 8 lakh 62 thousand. This gang had reached Jamnagar to attend the pre-wedding event of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant organized at Reliance. However, after reaching the place where the pre-wedding event was taking place in Jamnagar, the gang came to know that the security is tight and it is not possible to go inside. Hence, the gang’s plan to make a big splash in the pre-wedding program of the Ambani family failed. Then this gang decided to steal expensive cars by breaking glass windows from different cities of Gujarat. This gang first stole laptops and cash by breaking the glass of the car at Jamnagar bus stand and from there they confessed to stealing laptops and cash from expensive cars in Rajkot city and then in Delhi also.
Rajkot City Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava said that all the members of Trichy gang are natives of Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu state. This gang had come to Jamnagar to make a big splash in the pre-wedding of the Ambani family. But, they could not succeed. After this, members of this gang committed thefts in different areas of Gujarat. In this case, the team of Rajkot Crime Branch has arrested 43 year old accused Jagan Agamudiyar, 36 year old Deepak Agamudiyar, 27 year old Gunshekar, 62 year old Murali Modaliar and 55 year old Agammaram Katan Mutrayar from Delhi. Meanwhile, the search for the gang’s master mind Madhusudan alias VG is going on. On March 2, the accused broke the glass of a Mercedes car on 150 feet Ring Road in Rajkot and stole goods worth Rs 11 lakh 50 thousand including Rs 10 lakh cash, laptop and office documents. In this case, a crime was registered in Malviya Nagar police station. CCTV footage was examined by different teams of local police and Rajkot Crime Branch regarding the incident. Under this, information about some suspicious persons was obtained.
After this, after technical surveillance and information received from informers, the accused have been arrested from Delhi. During interrogation of the accused, they told about their modus operandi that this gang used to break the glass windows of expensive cars and steal them in the greed of becoming rich in a short time. Team leader Madhusudan used to decide the place of theft etc. On his instructions the gang members used to travel by train. Also, in cities of different states, crimes were committed at places like bus stands, railway stations, markets etc. where more than one car was parked. This gang used to make slingshots using hair pins and rubber and used them to break car windows and then run away with bags and cash from the car. Accused Deepak, Murali and Egamram used to do recce of the car. They used to see whether any bag or bag was lying in the car or not. After this he would signal Jagan and leave from there. Then Jagan used to break the glass of that car with the special Gilol he had and would signal the accused Gunasekhar and Gunasekhar would run away after stealing the laptop along with cash from the car.
