Thiruvananthapuram: International airport sees highest passenger flow since Covid

Thiruvananthapuram: The international airport saw passenger traffic of over 4 lakh in December 2023, the highest ever in a month in the post-Covid period. Of the 4.14 lakh passengers who traveled during the period, 2.42 lakh were domestic passengers and 1.72 lakh were foreign passengers, airport officials said in a statement. He said a 26 percent increase in passenger flow was recorded compared to the same period in 2022. A total of 41.48 lakh passengers traveled through Thiruvananthapuram airport in 2023 compared to 33 lakh passengers in 2022, a 25 per cent year-on-year traffic growth. The statement said the airport is already preparing to improve its infrastructure in view of the increase in the number of flights and passengers for a seamless and better travel experience.
