This area was submerged, water entered the houses

Durg: Torrential rain in Bhilai of the district for one hour has exposed the chaos of Bhilai Municipal Corporation. The entire area of Ward 50 near Khursipar Shriram Chowk was submerged. People’s houses were flooded with rain water. This is the condition when both the Deputy Chairman of the Corporation and the MLA representative live here.

There was torrential rain in Durg Bhilai from 10 am to 11 am on Sunday morning. Just one to one and a half hours of rain submerged the entire city. Due to non-cleaning of drains, all the rain water filled the roads and people’s houses. The worst situation was seen in Ward 50 of Khursipar. Here, instead of roads and drains, only water was visible all around.

Residents say that the problem of water logging has been there for many years. The local councilor and even the mayor have appealed to build a drain, but no one pays attention. When votes have to be taken, all the leaders come from door to door, but even after calling, they do not come to see the problems of the people.
